It must be on its way!

Its official! The Coca Cola advert has been on the telly and so, it is officially nearly Christmas! I do find this somewhat concerning however, not a single purchase has yet been made for the big day! I can feel the annual Christmas panic flooding over me already!
Anyway! We have set up our Christmas page for you to have a browse and purchase for all your friends and family!
This year, we have also decided to attempt a Christmas Wreath Making workshop! Having never done this before, we have no idea how this is going to go! But we think it will be a fun filled afternoon, and we already have lots of brave people signed up! So if you fancy joining us, just call or email the shop in the contact details at hwattsflorist.co.uk
Have a look on our web page...

An autumnal day of weddings....

This weekend was a mixture of creams, soft pinks and blues. Three weddings was a bit of a rush after a quieter October, back to the swing of rushing around like headless chickens!
The weather was gorgeous too, for an English October day, bright blue sky with a fresh nip to the air, bet there was thermals under those white dresses!!

A monthly affair

I must apologize that my blogging seems to have become somewhat of a monthly affair. I started so keen posting almost daily, and now with the trials and tribulations of the day to day florist shop my daily online diary seems to have been put to the back of my mind. Particularly I must add with these winter evenings drawing in. I seem to have become somewhat of a hermit cuddled in my cardigan and thick woolly socks in front of Doc Martin with a warm pudding and its only October! I am dreading the Christmas meal at this rate, my winter spread is already appearing...
So I am simply confirming that we've not closed down or disappeared on a foreign exotic adventure, we've simply been busy. The efforts of this busyness are displayed below...

Weddings, events and just lovely bouquets, we have been busy bees!
Winter pansies have started along with lovely autumnal shades of rich reds and oranges, it makes me feel not so bad about wearing my aran cardi and joules thick socks now the autumn is properly here and the leaves are falling off the trees!

Enough of my rabbiting! You are up to date on Watts happenings. Back soon with the next update!

A not too girly Saturday and a bit of spring Sunday!

Saturdays Wedding was at Langdon Court
We arrived in pouring rain to set up, we were gutted for such a lovely couple,
But as the day went on the sun came out and I'm sure they would have had a fabulous day whatever the weather

Sundays wedding was at St. Elizabeths House,
and England being England the wedding lady was in a pickle over whether to risk setting the ceremony up outside! The sun made its second appearance of the weekend though and I'm sure Steve and Marianne managed to have they're gorgeous wedding outside in the summer sun

Ooo what busy bees we are!

We are half way through! And will be very glad when its Sunday afternoon!
The thing is, we'd quite like the week to go slowly as next weekend is going to be even busier!

Wedding 1. Sunflowers, Roses, Rose hips and liles

Wedding 2. Amelia, Ilios and Vandella with Sedum, Snowberry, Bupleurum and pretty foliages

Wedding 3. St Elizabeths House. Ilios, White hydrangea, Akito and lissianthus

The sweetest things in tins...

This weekends wedding is a delight of sweet peas, hydrangea, stocks, dahlias and daisies.
The beautiful aroma of these gorgeous flowers are filling the shop.
The table arrangements are very quirky - each in a bean tin! We adore them.

The wedding we are told is at a gorgeous setting in a large house in the country.
This will be tomorrows adventure!

Country bumpkin...

Wedding from last weekend of love in a mist, daisies, stephanotis, freesia and lovely summer things!

We've been a bit slack recently on the posting! Apologies. We're back on it.
Weddings seem to have over taken Oreston and the stress of getting four weddings out on a Saturday morning has resulted in a considerably drop in photo taking!
Actually its not just Saturdays. Last week we had Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday weddings.
I like funny day weddings. A Monday is a good day to get married on.

This week we are looking busy again! And it appears that over the next few weeks with Bank Holidays and the start of September, weddings are increasing in numbers!
I fear we will not be seeing much of this gorgeous summer sun!!

Come and join our lovely picnic.....

This weekend we are creating a gorgeous gorgeous wedding with trestle tables, cake stands and every type of flower you could wish for in 60 different vases. The wedding is to be held on Llantallack Farm in Cornwall and if the weather holds up then it will be a superb day!
With this fabulous wedding in mind we have created a mini version in our window so we have hydrangea, sweet william  sweet peas, roses and agapanthus to name just a few.

We will keep you up to date with pictures of our weddings from the weekend at the end of the week, but for now you have these lovely pictures to keep you going!
We have also just had two lovely thank you cards from recent weddings. Don't old fashioned hand written notes brighten your day?

First day of summer

The first day of summer,
We realize it is hard to believe as today is the hottest day of the month so far and we still need thick jeans socks and vests. But we are feeling optimistic and the summer flowers have arrived. Daisies and garden roses,  love in a mist and the amazing dahlias. However many times we have dahlia in the shop we all can't help but be amazed by how gorgeous and perfect they are.
Our final thought for the day is today is also the longest day that means its all down hill until Christmas!
Happy Days!!

Deja vu?

We know that this time last week you saw a very similar picture
but aren't they just fabulous?

Stocks are local too this week, in gorgeous fabulous bright colours
and we've got the gorgeous sweet william again,
and fabulous scented sweet peas as well as beautiful Cornish pinks
And, just because they are absolutely wonderfully amazing...Dutch peonies.

We know they're not local, and that they've travelled a little way, but look at them!
You can scoop them up in the palm of your hand, stick your nose in and breath deep and you can just smell summer.

We're going to make a new page on our website, for you to simply buy local flowers and send them to your lovely friends for Birthdays or Anniversaries or just because you can!
